Bindery Machine Operator
Night Shift
Perform assignments under the general direction of the Bindery Department Shift Supervisor or the person in charge, the Bindery Operator performs any and all work described below. The Bindery Operator will be assigned to set up and operate one or more of the following machines: Cutter, Folder, Stitcher, Gluer Folder, Die Cut, Shrinkwrap, and Label Maker.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Set up and operate assigned machines while meeting production and quality requirements.
- Review schedule board for assignments or check with supervisor.
- Acquire the job ticket and review for job specifications that may impact the operation or machine set up.
- Follow routine procedures in the set-up and operation of the machine.
- Perform continuous visual inspections to verify product quality meets customer expectations.
- Make quality pulls as necessary.
- Maintain required records with quantity or other required information.
- Assist in the training of helpers.
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Keep work area clean.
- Work on job assignments in other manufacturing areas as instructed.
- Follow safety procedures and work in safe manner.
- Learn to become a more skilled operator on assigned machine or any other Bindery equipment listed above.
- Available to work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Comfort Performing Tedious Tasks-Able to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
- Attendance- Works with supervisor to make schedule work and help cover difficult times. Shows up on time when scheduled and willing to work overtime as required.
- Conscientiousness/Safety - Strictly adheres to all company policies and procedures, complies with safety regulations.
